GTA VI. The wait gets a price tag and a cover at last

After years of speculation, leaks and one record-shattering trailer, GTA VI is finally moving from teaser mode into the part of the cycle where wallets get involved. Rockstar’s next open-world epic goes up for pre-order on June 25, and that same day brings the answer to the question players have been quietly dreading: how much will it cost.

If you’d rather not wait for the pre-order window to swing open, both storefronts already let you stake a claim. You can drop GTA VI onto your wishlist on the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store right now, which sets up a notification the moment pre-orders go live. It’s a small but practical move for anyone determined to be first in line.

Alongside the pre-order news, Rockstar has pulled back the curtain on the game’s official cover art — the kind of stylized, neon-soaked key visual the series has built its identity around. It’s the sort of image that ends up plastered across store banners, console wraps and a thousand desktop wallpapers, and it signals that the marketing machine is now fully switched on.

The release itself is still on the horizon, with the latest date pinned to November 19. That makes June 25 less about playing the game and more about commitment — pre-ordering blind would have been a leap, but pricing arriving the same day gives players the full picture before they pledge anything.

Speaking of price, there’s reason for cautious optimism. Take-Two Interactive‘s boss has previously said the company intends to keep the cost in check, a notable stance in an era where blockbuster releases have crept upward and premium editions have ballooned. Whether “in check” means holding the line at familiar pricing or simply avoiding the worst-case scenarios, June 25 will settle the debate.

What we know so far is straightforward but significant:

  • Pre-orders open: June 25
  • Wishlist available now: PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store
  • Official cover art: revealed
  • Release date: November 19
  • Price: to be confirmed on June 25

For a title that has spent so long as the most-anticipated game on the planet, every concrete detail counts. The cover art gives fans something tangible to dissect, the wishlist gives the impatient something to click, and the pre-order date finally turns abstract hype into a calendar event. The only missing number — the price — won’t stay secret much longer, and given Take-Two’s public posture, it could be the most closely watched figure in gaming this year.
