The clever twist here is what Asus didn’t include: a discrete GPU. On paper that reads like a downgrade, but the AMD Strix Halo APU flips the script. The chip carries 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and Radeon 8060S graphics with 40 compute units, delivering performance that lands roughly on par with RTX 4060 laptops — all while sipping power far more gracefully than a dedicated graphics card would.
Let’s be clear about expectations. This is not a machine that will pump out triple-digit frame rates at the 13.4-inch tablet’s native 1600p resolution. In testing, even graphically demanding titles hovered around 50 to 60 frames per second at low to medium settings. Elden Ring managed roughly 50 fps at high settings and native resolution. Lean on FSR 3 and frame generation, and those numbers climb higher still.

The 2025 model finally delivers on the promise of the original 2022 device — a Surface-style tablet that can genuinely play games. Its display, an ROG Nebula panel, runs at 2.5K resolution with a 180Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, touch support and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. A 70Wh battery keeps things running away from the wall, and RAM configurations scale all the way up to 128GB of LPDDR5X clocked at 8000MHz.
Naturally, a thin, stand-equipped slate won’t wrestle the bulkier, pricier 16-inch heavyweights like the Razer Blade 16 or Asus’ own Zephyrus G16 in raw GPU workloads. But it gets shockingly close for something you can slip into a bag and carry anywhere.
