The other headline number is arguably even wilder. Up front sits a 6.84-inch flat OLED display at 2756 x 1272 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. Huawei claims a local peak brightness of 8,000 nits, which is the kind of figure that shrugs off harsh midday sun. Eye-strain worriers get 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming too, so those long scrolling sessions should feel gentler on the retinas.
Under the glass runs Huawei’s own Kirin 8020 chipset, paired with HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box. That in-house silicon-plus-software combo continues Huawei’s push toward a fully self-reliant stack, and it’s the beating heart of the whole nova 16 line.
