Timekettle W4 Plus. Fifty-two languages inside a 5.7-gram earbud

Real-time translation gadgets have spent years promising to dissolve the language barrier and then stumbling over a noisy cafe. Timekettle’s answer at IFA 2026 is the W4 Plus AI Interpreter Earbuds, unveiled in Berlin on September 4, 2026 and demonstrated at Booth 164, Hall 3.2. It is the company’s most feature-dense interpreter yet, and the pitch is less about raw language count than about where the translation actually works.

The headline coverage is 52 languages and 106 accents online, plus 13 offline language pairs for planes, tunnels and border towns where roaming quietly dies. Underneath sits Babel OS 3.0, Timekettle’s in-house translation stack, which the company says handles context better than the generation before it — the difference between translating words and translating what someone meant.

The hardware exists to serve that. Each bud weighs 5.7 g in a semi-in-ear shell, with dual microphones and a bone-conduction voiceprint sensor that separates the wearer’s voice from everything else in the room. Timekettle’s VoiceFocus noise reduction claims a 32%-47% improvement on low-volume speech over the previous W4 — a spec aimed squarely at the whispered aside and the crowded trade-show floor. Earbuds and case together come to 116.5 g.

Four modes cover the situations people actually get stuck in:

  • One-on-One Translation for face-to-face conversation, including One-Earbud Listening when you would rather not hand a stranger your earpiece
  • Listen & Play for lectures, tours and anything you are only receiving
  • Voice Call Translation for live interpreted phone calls
  • Multi-Media Translation for video and audio playing on your phone

The AI layer is where the W4 Plus separates itself from a simple phrasebook in your ear. AI Specialized Translation tunes vocabulary to five domains — General, Tech & Internet, Manufacturing & Industry, New Energy & Green Tech, and Biotech & Pharma — so “cell” lands correctly in a battery plant and in a lab. There is also AI Conversation Memory, Translation Refinement, Auto Transcription and an AI Live Summary that condenses a meeting once it ends. An AI Speaking Coach covers English, Chinese and Spanish, and a personal glossary keeps your own terminology consistent.

Stamina is quoted at 3+ hours of continuous interpretation per charge and 12 hours total with the charging case, stretching to 18 hours if you are only playing music.

“W4 Plus takes everything users loved about W4 and makes translation smarter, clearer and more natural,” said Tian Leal, Founder and CEO of Timekettle.

Pricing splits along a familiar modern fault line. The full-feature version costs US$379 with everything unlocked outright. The W4 Plus Subscription Version costs US$299, with the extra AI and translation features gated behind an Unlimited Plan at US$14.99 per month. Colors are Space Black, Midnight Blue and Sandy Gold, and sales start September 6, 2026 through Timekettle’s own site and Amazon.
