A phone that measures 6.39mm through the middle and still finds room for a 6,000mAh battery is already an odd engineering flex. Painting Piet Mondrian’s grid onto the back panel, in ink that only shows up under the right light, is what turns the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G into a conversation piece.
The body measures 162.58×77.27×6.39mm and uses what TECNO calls a swan-neck curve, a shape the company credits to ballet and automotive design. Five finishes carry the art theme. Neo Mondrian uses photochromic treatment so the panel reads as plain white indoors and resolves into a Mondrian-style block grid under UV. Van Gogh Blue applies a patterned gradient that recreates the nebula swirl of The Starry Night. Matisse Black is black fiberglass with fluorescent green accents, Burgundy Red is fiberglass with a matte, velvet-feel texture, and Rebel Pink puts sharp pink accents on a black body. TECNO’s own spec sheet also lists a Gossamer White.
The camera is where the CAMON name earns its keep. The main sensor is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C Ultra-Night unit on a 1/1.56-inch format, paired with a closed-loop ball motor autofocus and triple stabilization that combines OIS, AI EIS and an AI Shutter layer. Super-Zoom FlashSnap goes up to 2x telephoto and pushes shutter speeds to 1/11236 second for freezing motion. Portrait shooters get 24mm, 35mm and 50mm focal length options, and TECNO Universal Tone handles full-spectrum skin tones. The spec sheet adds an 8MP ultra-wide with autofocus and a 32MP front camera.
Everything else is respectable rather than flagship. Key numbers:
- 6.78” 1.5K AMOLED, 144Hz, 1208*2644, TUV Rheinland low blue light certified
- MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G, eight cores
- 256GB or 128GB storage with 8GB RAM plus 16GB extended RAM
- 6000mAh battery with 45W Super Charge
- HiOS 16, with 5 years of security updates and 3 major OS upgrades
- IP69K/IP69/IP68/IP66 plus MIL-STD-810 certification
The durability story is more interesting than the ratings alone suggest. Wet & Oily Hand Touch Recognition 2.0, Rain Touch and Waterproof Case Touch all target the moment a touchscreen normally gives up, which is a sensible thing to engineer into a phone this thin and this slippery.
There is also an accessory angle. The TECNO Mag Badge is a magnetic Bluetooth add-on with a 1.73” AMOLED screen and its own battery. It can display photos from your gallery, act as a selfie assistant, and fire the shutter from up to 10 meters away, which is a neater solution than propping the phone against a coffee cup.
The CAMON Slim 5G was announced in September 2026. TECNO says pricing and availability are to be announced locally, and eligible buyers in select markets get a 3-month Google AI Plus (2TB) trial at no extra charge.
