The countdown to Final Fantasy 14‘s Berlin Fan Fest is on, and Square Enix has finally lifted the curtain on what fans can expect when the event runs July 25-26. The full stage and stream schedule is out, offering a roadmap of announcements headed toward the MMO’s next expansion.
That expansion, Evercold, has been the talk of the community since its April reveal, with a January 2027 release window inching ever closer. Berlin is shaping up to be the venue where Square Enix pours out the details players have been waiting for — likely including a firmer release date and more of the story set in the expansion’s snowbound new region.
Plenty of mechanical changes are on the table, too. Evercold introduces a new season model, though producer and director Naoki Yoshida has already reassured players it isn’t a season pass. The bigger question mark hovers over the newly announced Evolved Mode for combat, which promises to overhaul how jobs play. April’s Fan Fest offered no specifics, so expect a proper deep dive in Berlin.
The usual expansion staples should also make an appearance. Evercold is bringing two new jobs, and at least one will almost certainly be unveiled — though Square Enix will likely hold the second back for the later Tokyo Fan Fest. There’s also a decent chance of a closer look at the Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover serving as Evercold’s Alliance Raid series.
It won’t be all about the expansion, either. The official site notes that the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XCIII will cover “all things Beastmaster,” the game’s latest limited job, arriving Sept. 8 as part of patch 7.56.
Every main event will stream publicly via the official Final Fantasy 14 YouTube and Twitch channels, all free except two: the day-one piano concert and the day-two Primals performance, which will be paid streams with details to follow.
