The Batman Part II. Batmobile tears through Glasgow in leaked set footage

Gotham has apparently relocated to Scotland, at least for a few weeks. Fresh set videos from The Batman: Part II have surfaced online, showing the Batmobile ripping through the streets of Glasgow in a series of high-octane confrontations with Gotham City Police and SWAT units.

If you loved the muscle-car menace of the first film’s Batmobile, these clips deliver more of the same visceral energy. The footage captures the vehicle in high-speed pursuit, weaving through staged police blockades while officers and tactical teams scramble to respond. It’s the kind of practical, rubber-on-tarmac action sequence that made Matt Reeves’ first outing feel grounded rather than cartoonish.

Glasgow has long doubled as a stand-in for American cities, and its gridded downtown streets and imposing architecture make it a natural fit for a rain-soaked, noir-tinged Gotham. Seeing the Batmobile — a machine that looks equal parts hot rod and armored assault vehicle — barreling past recognizable Glasgow storefronts is exactly the sort of behind-the-scenes contrast that fans live for.

What the videos suggest is a story that keeps Batman at odds with the very institutions he theoretically works alongside. The clashes with police and SWAT hint at a Gotham where the line between vigilante and outlaw remains blurry, continuing a tension that ran through the original film’s grim, investigative tone.

A few things worth keeping in mind:

  • Practical stunts: The set footage points to real vehicles and real chases rather than pure CGI, in keeping with the first film’s approach.
  • Location shooting: Glasgow is serving as a physical backbone for Gotham’s streetscapes.
  • The Batmobile returns: That growling, custom-built machine is clearly back in a starring role.

Of course, set videos are a snapshot of a single day’s shoot, not a plot summary. Sequences filmed in isolation can end up recut, trimmed or dropped entirely, and the context around these chases won’t be clear until the finished film arrives. Still, they offer a tantalizing early look at the scale and style Reeves is aiming for this time around.

For now, all we can say for certain is that the Batmobile is loud, fast, and once again on a collision course with Gotham’s finest. And judging by the crowds gathering to film these scenes on their phones, the appetite for a return to this darker, detective-driven Batman is very much alive.
