Motorola is dressing up its clamshell again, and this time the sparkle looks even more deliberate. The company is teasing a fresh Swarovski edition of the Razr, set to be made official during IFA in Berlin in early September. A short teaser clip on X flashes the back of a Razr against the caption “Sparkling brilliance,” and given that the Razr 60 already got the crystal treatment last year, all signs point to the Razr 70 stepping into the spotlight.
The visual language is unmistakable. The rear panel is textured in a quilted pattern, dotted with small crystal-like elements arranged along the same lines. A cluster of them frames the area near the cover display, and Motorola even planted a crystal on the phone’s hinge — a nice touch on the one part of a foldable everyone stares at.
Underneath the bling, this is the same Razr 70 hardware we already know. Highlights include:
- A 6.9-inch foldable LTPO OLED display at 1080×2640, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000-nit peak brightness
- MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chipset paired with 8GB of RAM
- 128/256/512GB storage options
- A 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide and a 32MP selfie shooter
- A 4,800 mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless charging
That’s a genuinely capable mid-range folder, so the Swarovski version isn’t asking you to trade specs for shine — you get the full package, just with a lot more glitter.
The obvious question is what all those crystals cost. Motorola hasn’t confirmed a price for the Swarovski edition yet, but the brand’s track record offers a strong hint. The blinged-out models have historically carried a flat $300 premium, and the base 2026 Razr sells for $799. Do the math and a $1099 sticker feels like the safe bet — though nothing is official until the reveal.
Motorola has been on something of a Swarovski streak lately. It launched crystal-encrusted versions of the Razr 60 and Edge 70 last year, then followed up with the Signature a few months ago. A Razr 70 Swarovski would slot neatly into that lineup, keeping the collaboration alive for another generation and giving fashion-conscious buyers a foldable that doubles as a statement piece.
For now, this is still a teaser — the crystals are visible, the intent is clear, but the full details wait for IFA. Expect Motorola to spell out configurations, availability and, crucially, that price when it takes the stage in Berlin.
