Beyerdynamic has unveiled the Aventho Y, a pair of wireless over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation that undercuts most big-name rivals at $149.99 (£129 / €149). The headphones were announced on September 3, 2026, and will be shown at IFA 2026 in Berlin, which opens on September 4, 2026 — Beyerdynamic’s stand is in Hall 4.2, booth #147.
The headline number is stamina. Beyerdynamic quotes more than 90 hours of playback with noise cancellation switched off, and more than 60 hours with ANC engaged. When the battery does run flat, a five-minute fast charge is claimed to deliver up to six hours of listening.
The other big idea is longevity — the Aventho Y is, in the company’s words, “designed for long-term ownership”. The battery is user-replaceable and sits in the left ear cup, while magnetic ear pads, aluminum sliders and stainless-steel hinges are all described as easy to replace. The design folds for transport, and an integrated storage compartment inside the ear cup keeps the optional USB-C dongle and a spare battery protected and close at hand.
On the audio side, these are closed-back headphones built around 45mm dynamic drivers, which Beyerdynamic says deliver its “renowned sound”. The ANC system uses two built-in microphones to detect and filter out environmental noise, and a Transparency Mode lets outside sounds through when you need to stay aware of your surroundings. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint support for switching between two devices, though codec support is limited to standard SBC and AAC. The headphones weigh 316 grams.
The Beyerdynamic app adds a 5-band EQ, genre-based sound presets, firmware updates and automatic power management. In the box you get a USB-C charging cable and a soft carry bag; optional extras sold separately include ultra-soft black or grey earpads, a low-latency USB-C dongle for gaming and a detachable boom microphone.
The Aventho Y comes in four finishes:
- Liquid Black
- Blue Fusion
- Soft Jade
- Peach Blush
As of September 2026 the headphones are listed on Beyerdynamic’s US site at $149.99. With a user-serviceable battery, replaceable wear parts and battery claims that dwarf most of the wireless competition, the Aventho Y makes an unusually practical pitch in a market that too often treats headphones as disposable.
