Hisense is best known for big TVs, laser projectors and soundbars, but the company has now gone outside with it. Its new Boom range covers three portable Bluetooth speakers, the FlexBoom, WeBoom and VoyageBoom, and aims straight at the market held by JBL and Ultimate Ears. The trio made its debut at CES 2026 and, as of September 2026, is on sale in the US. Hisense says UK availability will follow.
Hisense has picked a crowded name, too. LG has its Xboom range and Ultimate Ears has several “Boom” speakers. Hisense’s own spin is three sizes, from backpack-friendly to party-sized.
FlexBoom: the grab-and-go option
The smallest model is the one to toss in a bag. It delivers 40 watts from a single tweeter, a woofer and dual passive radiators, and Hisense promises “crisp highs and punchy bass wherever you go”. Battery life comes in at around 20 hours, and a 10-minute quick charge gives up to two hours of playback. It also has a built-in speakerphone.
WeBoom: the step-up
The middle model raises output to 70 watts and is pitched as offering a “rich and powerful sound”. It has an integrated carrying strap and a Bass Boost mode. The battery lasts up to 24 hours on a charge, and a 10-minute boost adds another two hours.
VoyageBoom: the flagship
The largest speaker uses a 2.1-channel layout with twin tweeters, dual woofers and a subwoofer, plus two passive radiators. Hisense’s own spec sheet gives two output figures: 136W on battery and 180W on AC power. Like the WeBoom, it runs for up to 24 hours per charge and gets two hours from a 10-minute top-up. Hisense lists Bluetooth 6.0 (“BT6”), a 3.5mm AUX input and a mic/guitar input, which makes it a candidate for backyard karaoke.
Shared features
- IP67 dust and water resistance on all three models
- Auracast support for broadcasting to an unlimited number of compatible speakers
- Stereo pairing of two FlexBooms or two VoyageBooms
- Powerbank function on the WeBoom and VoyageBoom for charging a phone or tablet
- On-unit lighting on the WeBoom and VoyageBoom, controlled through Hisense’s ConnectLife app
The powerbank feature is a clear nod to the JBL Charge line, which made “speaker that also charges your phone” something buyers expect.
David Gold, Hisense’s Chief Commercial Officer, described the range as an extension of the brand’s home entertainment work, with options “designed for everything from everyday listening and weekends outside to hosting a house of friends.”
Pricing
On Hisense’s US store the FlexBoom costs $119.99, the WeBoom $199.99 and the VoyageBoom $299.99. For bigger gatherings, the store also lists the wheeled Party Thunder Pro party speaker at $399.99. Hisense hasn’t yet announced UK pricing for the Boom range.
