HMD is building out its Vibe2 family in India. The standard Vibe2 went on sale there in May 2026, and the company has now confirmed a step-up model, the HMD Vibe2 Pro, launching in India on September 29, 2026. HMD’s Indian account has already shared the key specs, so most of the phone is known before launch day.
The biggest change is under the hood. The regular Vibe 2 5G uses a Unisoc T8200, while the Pro moves to the MediaTek Dimensity 6400. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Nobody will call that flagship hardware, but for a phone in this class the MediaTek chip is a more familiar choice, and it runs a current OS: the Vibe2 Pro ships with Android 16.
Battery life should be one of its strengths. HMD has confirmed a 6,000mAh battery, the same capacity as the regular model, with 33W wired fast charging. HMD also kept the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is getting rarer every year, even among cheaper phones.

On the camera side, HMD chose a 64MP Sony IMX682 as the main sensor, a well-known part in mid-range phones, paired with a 2MP macro camera. The 2MP macro mostly fills out the camera module, and the Sony sensor will do nearly all of the work. The standard Vibe 2 5G has a 50 MP main camera. Selfies are handled by a 13MP front camera.
The more region-specific feature is software. The Vibe2 Pro comes with Indus AI, which HMD says supports 22 Indian languages. That fits the company’s strategy in India, where it is selling to a large, multilingual market rather than competing on specs alone. How much the assistant can actually do day to day will only be clear once the phone is in buyers’ hands.
The first reactions to the teaser images mostly concerned the design. Early commenters on GSMArena didn’t like the large, decorative camera island on the back. Whether it looks better in person will become clear once the phone is out.
HMD says the Vibe2 Pro will come in three colors at launch but hasn’t named them yet. Price and sales details were not announced ahead of the September 29 launch. For context, the standard Vibe 2 5G has a 6.75-inch 120Hz IPS LCD. HMD hasn’t said whether the Pro keeps the same panel, so the display is still an open question.
