Loewe has spent decades building a reputation on design-led televisions, and its new portable speaker plays by the same rulebook. The Loewe Neo was unveiled on September 30, 2026. It is a premium Bluetooth speaker built around an aluminium housing, and it pairs a meaty 50-watt output with ambient lighting and swappable grilles. It looks as much like a lifestyle accessory as a piece of audio gear.
The German brand’s pitch is simple: mobility should not mean a smaller sound. In Loewe’s words, “compromising on acoustic fidelity is never a consequence of mobility”. To back that up, the Neo delivers 50 watts of total power and uses dual passive bass radiators to reinforce the low end, a familiar trick for squeezing more bass out of a compact enclosure.
The Neo is also built to go outdoors. Here are the practical highlights:
- IP67 water- and dust-proof certification
- 12 hours of battery life, according to What Hi-Fi?
- Auracast support for sharing audio with other compatible speakers
- A detachable leather carry strap and a premium felt case in the box
Where the Neo really stands out is its look. A built-in ambient light strip can be adjusted by hand on the speaker or through Loewe’s companion app, from warm white tones to vivid colours. The grilles are interchangeable, so owners can change the speaker’s appearance to suit the room, the mood or the outfit. Top-mounted controls cover the basics: a power button, bass and treble boosters and a light toggle.
The same app handles sound tuning. It offers three sonic presets along with individual bass and treble adjustments, which gives more control than the usual one-size-fits-all EQ on portable speakers.
Loewe CEO Aslan Khabliev described the product as a statement of intent: “For decades, Loewe has been synonymous with design, innovation and individuality. Neo implements that philosophy out into the world, combining exceptional acoustic power, intelligent lighting, and unprecedented customisation in one beautifully crafted product.”
That styling comes at a cost. The Loewe Neo will be available from November 20 in Alu Silver, Alu Black and Champagne finishes, priced at £400 / €400. The Champagne version will be a limited-edition colourway. For context, What Hi-Fi? points out that the five-star JBL Xtreme 5 costs £330 / €350, so the Neo sits at the premium end of the portable market.
Loewe has not yet published the finer technical details, such as the Bluetooth codecs, dimensions and weight. On paper, the Neo is less of a spec-sheet champion and more of a design object that happens to play loud. Whether its 50 watts and twin radiators back up Loewe’s promise of “exceptional acoustic power” will become clear once review units arrive.
