Vivo T5e. A budget marathon runner with a 5,500mAh heart

Vivo has quietly slotted another affordable handset into its Indian lineup. The Vivo T5e went on sale on July 27, 2026, and its pitch is refreshingly simple: a huge battery and a smooth-scrolling screen for people who count rupees, not gigahertz.

Priced at ₹13,999 (US$145), the T5e ships in a single 4GB/64GB configuration. That’s modest on paper, but the microSD slot means you won’t be deleting photos to make room for one more app.

The headline number is the 5,500mAh battery, paired with 15W wired charging. Don’t expect it to sprint to full in minutes, but for a device aimed at all-day (and then some) endurance, the trade-off makes sense.

Up front sits a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD with a 1600 × 720 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate — the kind of feature that used to be reserved for pricier tiers and instantly makes menus and feeds feel snappier. The panel is LCD rather than OLED, so temper expectations on contrast, but 90Hz at this price is a genuine win.

Under the hood, the phone runs an octa-core UniSoc T7225 chipset, backed by LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. It’s entry-level silicon built for messaging, browsing and casual gaming rather than benchmark bragging rights — a sensible match for the target audience.

Photography duties fall to a single 13MP rear camera, while a 5MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. Nothing fancy here, but on a phone this cheap, the specs are exactly what you’d expect.

Where the T5e earns extra credit is durability. It carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, plus MIL-STD-810H certification for a bit of ruggedness — reassuring for a phone likely to survive daily commutes, monsoon drizzle and the occasional tumble. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner handles security, and the software side runs Funtouch OS 16.

Buyers in India can pick it up through Flipkart, Vivo’s official online store and select offline retailers.

The T5e joins a busy stretch for Vivo’s budget efforts, arriving alongside the recently launched T5 Lite. It won’t win any spec-sheet shootouts, but as a rugged, long-lasting daily driver with a modern refresh rate, it makes a tidy case for itself at ₹13,999.
