Domino's The Domino. A pizza finally shaped like the logo after 65 years
SHARE

It only took 65 years, but Domino’s has finally made a pizza named after itself — and shaped like its own logo. Meet The Domino, a rectangular, two-slice pie that mimics the brand’s iconic domino tile, complete with the visual swagger you’d expect from a company that’s been dropping pizzas at doorsteps since 1960.

Underneath the marketing flourish, this is essentially Domino’s take on the Detroit-style pizza — and it’s clearly engineered for crunch. The base starts with handmade, buttery-flavored pan dough, then gets encrusted with real Parmesan cheese before baking in a rectangular pan. The result is a crispy Parmesan Detroit-style crust with those caramelized, cheesy edges that Detroit-style fans obsess over.

The build is generous. You get two layers of cheese, your choice of sauce, and up to three toppings, all finished with a drizzle of Domino’s signature garlic seasoning across the top. It’s then cut into two large slices — a deliberate nod to the two-dot domino tile the whole thing is named after. Form following function, or at least form following brand identity.

Here’s the part that makes it easy to justify: The Domino starts at US$6.99 each for a two-topping version through Domino’s Mix and Match Deal. As always with pizza chain pricing, that figure may run higher in some areas, so your local store’s menu is the final word.

Domino’s revealed the pie on August 11, 2026, with a nationwide launch set for August 31, 2026. Between the announcement and rollout, the company is leaning hard into the novelty of a pizza that finally carries the family name — a surprisingly long wait considering the logo has been staring back at customers for over six decades.

What’s notable from a pizza-tech standpoint is how much of The Domino is about texture engineering rather than exotic ingredients. The Parmesan-crusted pan, the double cheese, the rectangular bake and the garlic seasoning drizzle are all classic Detroit-style moves, repackaged into a shape that doubles as branding. It’s a smart bit of product design: instantly recognizable, easy to photograph, and shaped to look exactly like the thing customers have been tapping on delivery apps for years.

Whether The Domino sticks around as a permanent menu fixture or rides the wave as a limited launch, it’s a rare case of a company turning its own logo into something you can actually eat — and, at US$6.99 to start, one that’s priced to get people trying it.
