Getting a Zeiss lens repaired in North America just became a far more straightforward affair. As of September 1, 2026, KEH Camera is the exclusive authorized repair and service center for Zeiss photography lenses and equipment in the United States and Canada, the two companies announced on September 2. Until now, Zeiss had directed US customers to dealers and distributors rather than a dedicated service center — that era is over.
The scope of the deal is unusually broad. KEH will take on both in-warranty and out-of-warranty work, and the covered catalog stretches back decades rather than stopping at current products. Gear now eligible for factory-authorized service includes:
- Current Batis lenses and the new Otus ML primes for full-frame mirrorless cameras
- Postwar Zeiss Jena glass and 1960s Contarex system lenses
- Large-format Zeiss optics made for Linhof and Graflex
- Yashica and Rollei optics that previously had no authorized repair path at all
This is not a rubber-stamp arrangement, either. KEH technicians will receive specialized training directly from Zeiss and will work with genuine, certified manufacturer parts alongside Zeiss-approved calibration tools and practices, so a lens serviced in Georgia should meet the same engineering standards as one serviced by the maker itself.
The process is built around Zeiss’ online repair portal. Owners submit a request through the service page at zeiss.com, KEH coordinates the shipment, performs the repair, and returns the equipment directly to the customer. Photographers near Atlanta, Georgia can skip the courier entirely and drop their gear off at KEH’s retail location.
KEH is a logical choice for the job. Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Atlanta, the company is best known as the largest name in buying and selling used camera gear, but its bench holds hundreds of combined years of technician repair experience. Zeiss now joins Sony and Sigma on KEH’s list of authorized repair partnerships, making it, by its own account, the only reseller in the camera industry with manufacturer-approved repair facilities.
“Premium camera equipment is built to perform for decades, and repair is core to photographers getting the most out of their tools,” said Glenn Kaufman, KEH’s chairman and CEO. Tony Wisniewski, Senior Manager of ZEISS Photography Americas, added: “Because treasured optics require specialized care, we are pleased to partner with KEH Camera who has set the bar for lens repair.”
For owners of aging Contarex glass or a freshly bought Otus ML, the practical upshot is the same — there is finally one official door to knock on, and it leads to people trained by the company that built the lens.
