Stuck choosing between an OLED and a Mini LED TV, or between two pairs of speakers you like equally? What Hi-Fi? is running its Sound Advice live Q&A a second time, and anyone can send in a question. The UK magazine announced the session on September 29, 2026. It follows the first Sound Advice Q&A, which went live on July 31, 2026.
The date is Friday, 2nd October, and the team will answer questions between 1pm and 3pm. The format is the same as last time. The Q&A page opens on Friday morning, so you can post a question before the answering starts at 1pm.
Three members of the What Hi-Fi? team will take the questions:

- Kashfia Kabir, Hi-Fi & Audio Editor
- Tom Parsons, who covers TV and AV
They will cover four areas: hi-fi, headphones, home cinema and TVs. The team gave a few examples of the questions it expects. Should you buy an OLED or a Mini LED TV? Which of two speakers should you pick? Which turntable would suit the system you already own? Questions about Dolby Atmos, streaming, vinyl and the newer AV formats are welcome too.
The session is not only about what to buy. The editors say they can give their view on the latest products and technologies and tell you whether a tempting deal is worth taking. They will also explain how they test and review the products they recommend. That last topic may interest readers who want to know how a product earns a recommendation.
You don’t need to be online during the session to take part. There are three ways to send a question:
- post it on the live Q&A page once it opens on Friday morning;
- leave it in the comments under the announcement article;
- email it to [email protected].
The team says it will answer as many questions as it can during the session.
What Hi-Fi? says the goal of Sound Advice is personalised advice that a standard review or buying guide can’t always give. A review can say how good a streamer is. It can’t say whether that streamer suits your amplifier, your room or your budget. The magazine also calls the session a peek behind its own curtain, so questions about how it works are fair game as well as buying questions.
The magazine calls the first session a success, which is why it is running a second one. Two sessions don’t make a regular series yet, but the format looks set to continue.
