ZTE Nubia Air Pro. A wafer-thin phone with a 108MP heavyweight camera

A phone barely thicker than a stack of credit cards isn’t supposed to carry a 108-megapixel camera, yet the ZTE Nubia Air Pro seems determined to break that rule. The device has quietly appeared on Nubia’s global website, listed since June 26, 2026, though the company hasn’t made it official with a proper announcement.

The headline trick is the body. At just 5.99mm thick and 172g, the Air Pro is built around a metal frame that makes most modern flagships look chunky by comparison. Slimness like this usually means compromises elsewhere, which is what makes the rest of the spec sheet interesting.

Take the camera. Nubia has squeezed a 108MP main sensor into that razor profile, joined by an unspecified secondary shooter for a dual rear setup. Up front sits a 32MP selfie camera. On paper, that’s serious resolution for a phone this thin.

The display doesn’t feel like an afterthought either. It’s a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel running at a fluid 144Hz refresh rate, with peak brightness rated at a blistering 4,500 nits — bright enough to stay legible under harsh midday sun.

Under the hood, the Air Pro leans on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. That’s solid upper-midrange territory rather than flagship muscle, but it suits the phone’s design-first pitch.

Keeping everything fed is a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging — a notable feat in a chassis this slender, where finding room for a large cell is half the battle.

Here’s the genuinely surprising part: despite that delicate frame, the Air Pro carries an IP69K rating for water and dust resistance. That’s not your standard splash-proofing — IP69K covers high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, the kind of protection usually reserved for rugged industrial gear. Seeing it on a sub-6mm consumer phone is unusual.

Pricing is set at €350 ($399 USD) for the 8GB/512GB configuration, which places the Air Pro firmly in affordable-phone territory rather than premium pricing.

Quick rundown of what’s on board:

  • Display: 6.77-inch AMOLED, 144Hz, 4,500 nits peak
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7100
  • Memory: 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 512GB UFS 2.2
  • Cameras: 108MP main + secondary, 32MP front
  • Battery: 5,000mAh, 45W charging
  • Build: 5.99mm, 172g, IP69K

For now the listing is all we have, with no formal launch event attached. But the combination of an ultra-thin metal body, a high-resolution camera, a 4,500-nit screen and rugged IP69K protection — at €350 — makes the Air Pro one of the more intriguing slim phones to surface this year.
