Huawei is taking its Pura 90 lineup worldwide, and the naming tweak is the first thing you’ll notice. What China knows as the Pura 90 arrives internationally as the Pura 90s series. Huawei hasn’t explained what the “S” stands for, but the global family lines up as the Pura 90s, Pura 90s Pro, and Pura 90s Pro Max. The global launch is set for July 14, 2026.
Teasers on Huawei’s X account leaned hard into the aesthetics, spotlighting the flashy gradient finish on the Pura 90 Pro Max. It’s the kind of shimmering, shifting color panel that reads as a statement piece rather than a subtle accessory — and it survives the jump from the Chinese release to the global one.
Under the glamour, the hardware is serious. The flagship centers on a 6.9″ display protected by Kunlun Glass, driven by Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chipset. There’s a hefty 6000 mAh battery to keep things running, and the storage ceiling climbs to a generous 1024 GB, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM.
Photography is clearly where Huawei wants to win the argument. The camera stack is led by a 50MP ultra-high dynamic range main sensor with a variable F1.4-F4.0 aperture and OIS, giving you mechanical control over depth of field and light rather than pure software trickery. Backing it up is a 40MP ultrawide and a standout 200MP telephoto shooter at F2.6 with OIS. Reach runs to 4x optical zoom and stretches all the way to 100x digital zoom.
The lineup already had a run at home before going global. The Pura 90s series was launched in China on April 20, 2026, and went on sale there starting April 29th. That head start means the design and imaging story are known quantities — the open question for the worldwide debut is how the specs and configurations shake out under the “s” label.
On pricing, the Pura 90 Pro Max spans a familiar flagship spread. The 12+256GB model lands at US$ 910, the 12+512GB version sits at US$ 980, and the top-tier 16+512GB configuration comes in at US$ 1100. That places it squarely in premium territory, betting that the gradient finish and that variable-aperture, 200MP-toting camera array are enough to justify the ask.
