Hisense XR10. The triple-laser projector that thinks it's a home cinema
SHARE

Projectors have spent years apologising for their compromises — washed-out colours, feeble contrast, tinny sound. The Hisense XR10 4K Triple Laser Smart Projector refuses to make any of those excuses, and the price tag makes sure you know it: US$6,999 in the States, £5,999 in the UK and €4,999 in Germany.

At the heart of the XR10 sits an RGB triple laser light source, the technology that lets Hisense chase colour purity most single-laser rivals can only dream about. The payoff is a claimed 118% coverage of the BT.2020 colour space — a genuinely enormous gamut — paired with 6,000 ANSI lumens of brightness. That’s enough muscle to hold up in a room that isn’t pitch black, which is where most projectors quietly give up.

Image-wise, you get 4K UHD resolution at a 60Hz refresh rate, a 6,000:1 native contrast ratio, and a picture that scales from 65 to 300 inches. The 0.84–2.0:1 throw ratio gives you real flexibility on placement, whether you’re mounting it on a shelf or wedging it into a tight living room. Format support is comprehensive too: Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced are all onboard, so the XR10 can actually do justice to the content you feed it.

And that laser engine is rated for a 25,000-hour lifespan — long enough that you’ll likely upgrade the whole thing before the light source fades.

Sound is where Hisense flexes its partnerships. The XR10 packs integrated Devialet speakers, the French audio house whose name usually adorns kit costing thousands on its own. For a projector, having Devialet handle the acoustics is a statement of intent — this is meant to be a self-contained cinema, not a box that needs a soundbar bolted on.

Connectivity is refreshingly future-proof. You get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a port cluster that includes HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 matters: it’s the gateway to higher-bandwidth signals and modern sources, and it’s the kind of spec that keeps a pricey purchase relevant for years.

The XR10 first surfaced at the end of 2025 and made its show-floor debut at CES 2026. US pre-orders opened in March 2026, and the projector has since gone on sale worldwide.

At seven grand, the XR10 isn’t competing with the ultra-short-throw crowd or the sub-$2,000 living-room projectors. It’s aiming squarely at buyers who want a dedicated big-screen experience without the labour of separate speakers and calibration headaches. On paper, Hisense has assembled the ingredients to deliver exactly that — bright, colour-rich, and dressed to impress.
