Beyerdynamic DT 275 Pro. Studio-grade monitoring that fits in your bag
SHARE

Beyerdynamic has a knack for building wired headphones that punch well above their price tag — its DT 990 Pro X won plenty of admirers last year — and now the German brand is aiming at the more wallet-friendly end of the market with the DT 275 Pro.

These are on-ear, closed-back monitoring cans conceived for people who make sonic decisions under pressure: front-of-house engineers, mixers, content creators and DJs. The premise is simple but crucial — when you’re working in a loud room, the last thing you need is headphones that colour the sound or muffle detail.

Under the hood sit a pair of 40mm dynamic drivers tuned for neutrality rather than crowd-pleasing bass bloat. Frequency response stretches from 5Hz to 24,000Hz, comfortably beyond the edges of human hearing at both ends, giving engineers headroom to trust what they’re hearing. Beyerdynamic describes the tuning as “neutral”, which is exactly what you want when you’re chasing accuracy over flattery.

There’s no active noise cancelling here — and that’s deliberate. Instead, the closed-back design leans on passive noise attenuation of 22 dBA to shut out the racket of a busy studio or stage, without the phase artefacts and processing that ANC can introduce into critical listening.

Portability is the other headline. At just 195g without the cable, the DT 275 Pro are genuinely travel-friendly, with faux leather ear pads and a flexible headband designed to keep the clamp comfortable through long sessions. Better still, Beyerdynamic has made the cushion components replaceable — so a worn pad or tired headband no longer means binning the whole pair. That’s a small but welcome nod to longevity in a category where consumables quietly kill perfectly good hardware.

As Martin Stahl, director of Beyerdynamic’s ‘Pro’ division, put it: “The most common and costly mistakes happen when critical audio decisions have to be made in loud environments. The DT 275 Pro were designed to give creators and audio professionals the confidence to make critical monitoring decisions wherever their work takes them.”

In the box you get a 1.5m locking cable with a 3.5mm jack, a 6.35mm adapter for larger interfaces and desks, and a drawstring carrying bag to keep everything together on the move.

The Beyerdynamic DT 275 Pro launched on 28 July 2026 and are available now, priced at US$149.99 / £99.99 / €119.00. That undercuts most of Beyerdynamic’s better-known Pro-series models and puts serious studio-lineage headphones within reach of the cost-conscious creator — a rare thing in a market where “affordable” and “professional” don’t always sit comfortably in the same sentence.
