BR1 Infinite. The extraction shooter that pays cash for kills

Most shooters reward you with XP, loot crates and bragging rights. BR1: INFINITE wants to reward you with actual money. Developed by Montreal-based publisher Bravo Ready, this PC extraction shooter pays real-world funds for every opponent you eliminate, every piece of loot you extract, and — in theory — every ounce of skill you can muster. It’s a bold pitch, and predictably, it’s already drawing gambling concerns.

Here’s how the loop works. You pay to spawn into a match, with risk modes ranging from $0.10 to $1.00 per spawn. Survive and rack up eliminations, and you cash out. Die early and you’ve simply lost your entry fee. That risk-versus-reward structure is exactly what critics point at when they use the word “gambling.”

The payouts aren’t in your local bank balance, though. BR1: INFINITE runs its economy on the Solana blockchain, with earnings paid out in dollar-pegged cryptocurrency. The whole system revolves around buying and renting operative characters, and there’s an Earnings Retention Bonus (ERB) system that promises up to a 15% increase in ROI for players who stick around. If that sounds more like a financial product than a video game, well, that’s rather the point.

The pedigree behind it is surprisingly heavyweight. Bravo Ready is backed by Solana Ventures, PUBG publisher Krafton, and 6MV — not the kind of names that attach themselves to a fly-by-night project. That backing gives the whole play-to-earn experiment a credibility it might otherwise lack.

To ease newcomers in, the studio has been running Preseason Games. During these, entry fees in the $0.25 game mode are covered, meaning you can spawn for free and still earn $0.25 USDC for every kill. It’s a clever way to let players taste the mechanics without risking a cent — and, of course, to hook them before the real-money stakes kick in.

As of August 4, 2026, access was still gated, with a limited number of spots being handed out via invites. The game is available on PC as a downloadable launcher, and it’s also up for Wishlist on the Epic Games Store.

Whether BR1: INFINITE represents the future of competitive gaming or a regulatory headache waiting to happen is very much an open question. The idea of monetising your aim isn’t new — esports players have earned prize money for years — but baking cash directly into the moment-to-moment gameplay, spawn by spawn, blurs the line between game and wager in ways that watchdogs won’t ignore.

For now, it’s a fascinating, faintly nerve-wracking experiment. If you’re the type who thinks your headshots deserve a payday, the door is at least partly open. Just remember: in BR1: INFINITE, respawning has a very literal cost.
