Bezels are the awkward truth of every smartphone. Budget handsets wear them like thick picture frames, flagships shave them down to slivers — but they never truly vanish. Tecno wants to change that math entirely, and it’s bringing the proof to Berlin.
The Tecno Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone claims a literal 0mm display border. Not a marketing-friendly “nearly nothing,” but a screen that reportedly runs edge to edge with nothing framing it. Getting there wasn’t a matter of trimming a millimeter here and there. Tecno credits advanced internal stacking, structural re-engineering and novel screen packaging that rework the entire display architecture — essentially rethinking how the panel, the electronics beneath it and the chassis fit together so the pixels can reach the very perimeter of the device.
Whether that survives the leap from concept to shipping product is another question, but as a showcase of where phone design is heading, it’s a bold statement. The phone will be presented at the IFA ShowStoppers 2026 event at Berlin Messe on September 3, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Tecno isn’t arriving with just a phone, though. Three new Megabook laptops are joining it at the show, and the standout is the Megabook T15 360 Pro — the company’s first laptop with a full 360° hinge. Fold the display all the way back and it becomes a tablet, helped along by a 10-point touchscreen that reads multiple fingers at once.
The panel itself is a 15.6-inch display with 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, so scrolling and inking should both feel fluid. Speaking of inking, the T15 360 Pro supports MPP 2.0 active styluses, leaning into that convertible identity for note-taking and sketching.
Under the hood, Tecno reaches for the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, paired with a 70Wh battery to keep the whole thing running through a working day. It’s a familiar recipe for a modern convertible, but a notable one for Tecno, a brand better known for aggressively priced smartphones than flexible-hinge laptops.
Here’s the catch worth flagging: both the bezelless phone and the Megabook T15 360 Pro are launching as showcase pieces at Berlin Messe on September 3, and neither has a price attached yet. The concept phone in particular reads as a technology demonstrator — the kind of thing that hints at future products rather than one you’ll be ordering next week.
Still, it’s an encouraging sign. When a value-focused manufacturer starts chasing 0mm bezels and 360° hinges, it usually means those ideas are trickling down toward the rest of us sooner than expected.
