Visko Orbis. The AI video model you can talk back to mid-generation
SHARE

Most AI video generators hand you a fixed clip and wish you luck. Visko Orbis takes a different route: it streams video live, listens while it works, and lets you steer the scene as it unfolds. Public access opened on September 1, 2026, and — for now — it’s free to try.

The headline number is a genuinely interactive stream of 4K video at 24 frames per second. That’s not a pre-rendered file you wait on; it’s a continuous feed the model paints in real time. Nudge it mid-shot, and Orbis responds instantly, folding your input into whatever it’s currently generating rather than restarting from scratch.

The trick that usually breaks long AI clips is drift — colors creep, faces morph, and the whole thing slowly loses its grip on reality. Visko claims Orbis sustains hour-scale generation without evident visual or color drift. If that holds up in the wild, it moves the model out of the “neat demo” category and toward something you could actually build with.

On the input side, Orbis is flexible about how you feed it:

  • Long-form text-to-video for building scenes from a written prompt
  • Image-to-video for animating a still into a moving shot
  • Video continuation for extending existing footage

It also handles multilingual prompts and — the part that pairs neatly with its live nature — prompt switching while generation is in progress. In practice, that means you can pivot the narrative partway through without killing the stream: change the setting, shift the mood, redirect the action, all on the fly. It’s closer to directing than to submitting a request and waiting.

The launch arrived alongside a business milestone. Visko closed a $10 million pre-seed funding round, giving the young company runway to scale what is clearly a compute-heavy proposition. Real-time 4K generation with sustained coherence isn’t cheap to serve, so free public access reads as a land-grab for users and feedback rather than a settled business model.

The bigger picture is where this fits. Interactive, drift-resistant, hour-long video generation blurs the line between a video tool and something more like a live world engine — the kind of tech that game studios, virtual production teams and simulation builders have been circling for a while. Orbis 1.0 isn’t promising all of that today, but the combination of instant response, 4K output and marathon-length coherence is an unusually ambitious spec sheet for a debut.

For now, the pitch is simple: fire up a prompt, watch it render live, and change your mind as often as you like. The interesting question isn’t whether Orbis can generate video — plenty of models can. It’s whether letting people improvise inside a running stream turns out to be the feature everyone else has been missing.
