vivo has made the X500 series official, and the family arrives three strong: the vivo X500, the X500 Pro and the flagship X500 Pro Max. The two Pro models are the first phones to launch with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, while the vanilla X500 runs the Dimensity 9600M, which GSMArena describes as essentially a rebadge of last year’s Dimensity 9500. As with every X-series generation, the real story is the cameras.
Pro Max: the 200MP tele takes centre stage
The X500 Pro Max pairs a custom 24mm-equivalent 50MP main camera built on Sony’s LYTIA L910 sensor (1/1.28″, f/1.57) with gimbal-grade 3-degree OIS. The headline act, though, is the 85mm telephoto: a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP0 with a 1/1.4″ sensor and stabilization rated at CIPA 7.0. A 15mm 50MP ultrawide on the ISOCELL JN5 (1/2.75″) completes the set. Video tops out at 4K 240fps and 8K 30fps, with 10-bit 422 encoding and ACES support for colourists who want to grade seriously.
The rest of the Pro Max spec sheet is just as generous:
- 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED, 2K, 144Hz, BOE Q11 panel, 4,500 nits
- 8,000 mAh Si-C battery
- 90W wired and 40W wireless charging

X500 Pro: the same main camera in a compact body
The X500 Pro keeps the 24mm 50MP LYTIA L910 main camera and the 15mm ISOCELL JN5 ultrawide, but swaps the telephoto for an 85mm 64MP unit built on the vivo x Sony LYTIA 610 (1/2.0″). It shares the 4K 240fps, 10-bit 422 and ACES video toolkit. The screen shrinks to a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED (2K, 144Hz, 4,500 nits, BOE Q11), and a 6,510 mAh cell sits inside. It comes in the same four colours as the Pro Max.
X500: big battery, older silicon
The base model uses a 23mm-equivalent 50MP Lytia 828 (1/1.28″) main camera, a 72mm 64MP telephoto and a 50MP ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide. It gets a 6.59-inch AMOLED with 2K resolution, 144Hz and 4,000 nits peak brightness, plus a 7,500 mAh battery, and ships in white, gray and black.
All three phones support 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, carry IP68 and IP69 protection and boot OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.

The series was announced on September 21, 2026, and open sales in China are scheduled to begin on September 24. vivo has not shared global launch details.
