The vivo V80 is getting less mysterious by the week. A device with the model number V2648, reportedly the V80, has turned up in the Geekbench database. The listing shows that vivo did not change the chip for this generation.
According to the benchmark entry reported by GSMArena on September 22, 2026, the V80 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. That is the same Qualcomm chipset used in its predecessor, the vivo V70, which was announced on February 19, 2026. The prototype that ran the test had 8GB of RAM. That doesn’t rule out other memory configurations in the final lineup.
The scores are about what you’d expect for a carried-over chip:

The listing also shows the software. The V80 runs Android 17 out of the box, with vivo’s newly announced OriginOS 7 on top. A brand-new Android version on a mid-ranger at launch is a good sign for update longevity.
What vivo has shown so far
By mid-September 2026, vivo had started officially teasing the phone in India, and a microsite marked “Coming Soon” went live on vivo’s Indian website. The official material shows the V80 in an orange finish. The design follows the familiar V-series look, with a triple ZEISS-branded rear camera system and an LED flash. vivo is pitching the phone mainly on photography. On September 22, 2026, the company released another short video teaser for the V80.
What’s still only leaked
The biggest claim is the battery. A leak puts it at 7,200 mAh, up from the 6,500 mAh cell in the V70. The same reports mention a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom. None of this is official yet. The main and ultrawide cameras, the display, charging speed and pricing are also still unconfirmed.
The leaks also point to an official Indian launch in the first week of October. As of September 22, 2026, vivo had not confirmed a launch date or price.

Keeping the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 means the V80 won’t be a big jump in raw performance over the V70. The real upgrades look set to be battery capacity, the ZEISS camera system and the newer Android 17 and OriginOS 7 software. If the 7,200 mAh figure holds, the V80 would be one of the longest-lasting phones in vivo’s mid-premium range. Paired with a proven, efficient chip, that could be a smart trade-off.
