The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion has started getting its stable Android 17 update. GSMArena reported the rollout on September 25, 2026, citing Edge 60 Fusion owners in India who posted about it on Reddit. Motorola has not put out an announcement of its own. The update comes over the air as build A171VCH.41-9, and at 5.2GB it is best downloaded over Wi-Fi or another fast connection.
As of September 2026, the update has been reported only in India. Motorola has not given dates for other regions. GSMArena expects them to follow soon, and notes that Motorola has been releasing Android 17 updates across its range at a steady pace.
The Qira question
It is not yet clear whether this build brings Qira, the AI assistant that Motorola and its parent company Lenovo announced at CES. On September 22, 2026, Motorola confirmed that Qira would reach more of its phones with the Android 17 update, but only models in the Signature, Razr and Edge series. On Motorola phones, Qira first appeared on the Edge 70 Max.
The Edge 60 Fusion is an Edge-series phone, so it is eligible for Qira. Still, no one has confirmed whether the assistant is part of A171VCH.41-9. If it does arrive, Qira works with voice and text, as well as photos and videos. It can:
- transcribe and summarize conversations
- summarize notifications, surface suggestions and set reminders
- create images, stickers and avatars, and turn a photo of a pattern into a wallpaper
- complete tasks on the user’s behalf, keeping context when switching between Motorola and Lenovo devices
Whether or not Qira is included, the update brings the standard features of Android 17.
The phone getting the update
The Edge 60 Fusion was announced on April 2, 2025, and was released on April 9, 2025. It shipped with Android 15, with a promise of up to 3 major OS updates. According to GSMArena’s spec sheet, its main hardware is:
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7300 (4 nm) in the global model; MediaTek Dimensity 7400 (4 nm) in India and Indonesia
- Display: 6.67-inch P-OLED, 1220 x 2712 pixels, 120Hz, HDR10+, 1500 nits (HBM) and 4500 nits (peak)
- Cameras: 50 MP f/1.9 main with OIS, 13 MP f/2.2 120˚ ultrawide
- Memory: 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM
- Battery: 5200 mAh (Global) or 5500 mAh (India only)
The Indian model, with the Dimensity 7400 and the larger battery, is the one getting the update first. To check whether it has arrived, go to the phone’s system update settings. Make sure the phone is charged and has enough free storage for a 5.2GB package.
