Honor has finally pinned a date on the software launch it was expected to deliver in August. MagicOS 11, the company’s take on Android 17, gets its full unveiling on September 15, 2026 at the Honor Global Developer Conference in Shenzhen, China, where the main forum is scheduled between 7 PM and 8 PM. The operating system is the headline act of the one-day event, which also covers developer sessions and Honor’s wider software direction.
Getting here took a detour. Honor had lined up a Pioneer Event in China on August 6, 2026 to introduce MagicOS 11, and an early access build had already reached the Magic V6 before that. The complete reveal never materialised in August, so the developer conference inherits it.
The visual pitch is a glass reset. Honor’s own description of the redesigned interface is “vibrant, transparent, and silky-smooth”, and the borrowing from Apple’s Liquid Glass design language is not subtle. Beyond the skin, Honor’s promotional material ahead of the conference points at a familiar list of housekeeping upgrades:
- Storage optimisation that Honor says can free up to 60GB
- An overall device smoothness improvement of more than 20%
- Multi-protocol fast charging and smarter network selection
- Dual Bluetooth earphone connectivity
- 4K Live Photo capture while recording video
The more consequential change is agentic. MagicOS 11 is built around a system-level Agent Harness that wires proactive services and automated execution into the YOYO assistant, and Honor claims the new generation assistant can carry out long-term tasks running to as many as 100 steps. That is a different proposition from a chatbot bolted onto a settings menu: chaining a hundred actions means the system, not the user, holds the plan.
The groundwork was laid earlier. On June 25, 2026, Fang Fei, President of the Honor Product Line, sketched an “Agentic OS” resting on perception, planning and action, built from “Intent-driven operations, more realistic interactions, AI-powered Agentic kernel + components, and native cross-platform connectivity”. Those capabilities were always destined to reach owners through MagicOS 11, and the September event is where the marketing language has to turn into shipping features.
Testers are already inside. Honor opened a closed beta in early August 2026 covering 17 devices, with 2000 slots per model and a requirement of at least 10GB of free storage before installing. The first batch spans the Magic V6 and Magic V5 foldables, the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, Magic 8 Pro, Magic 8 Pro Air and Magic 8, the Magic 7 RSR Porsche Design, Magic 7 Pro and Magic 7, the WIN, WIN RT and GT Pro, the 600 Pro, 600 Super Edition and 600 Vitality Edition, plus the MagicPad 3 Pro tablets. Registration runs through the Software Update menu under Upgrade Early Access.
What Honor has not detailed is the public rollout schedule. That gap is exactly the sort of thing a developer conference exists to close.
