Nubia NaviX Ultra. A flagship with a 7,100mAh battery and its own AI button

When Nubia teased the NaviX Ultra earlier this month, it played coy — dropping design shots and color options while keeping every meaningful spec locked away. That silence didn’t last long. The phone made its full debut on July 19, 2026 at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 in China, and the hardware finally has some numbers attached to it.

At the core sits Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the current top-tier mobile silicon, so there’s no shortage of raw horsepower here. That chip drives a 6.78-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and a fluid 144Hz refresh rate — a combination aimed squarely at gamers and anyone who scrolls fast and demands the panel keep up.

The headline figure, though, is the battery. Nubia has fitted a 7,100mAh cell, which is generous even by the standards of endurance-obsessed Chinese flagships. Pair that capacity with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s efficiency gains and the NaviX Ultra looks built to outlast a long day of heavy use without flinching.

Photography leans on a triple 50MP rear camera system, covering a main, wide and zoom trio — a versatile setup that spreads the resolution evenly across focal lengths rather than propping up one flashy sensor. It’s a sensible layout for a device pitched as an all-rounder.

Given the venue, it’s no surprise that AI takes center stage. The NaviX Ultra is powered by the Doubao Mobile Assistant, and Nubia has gone as far as adding a dedicated orange AI button on the side of the frame. Physical shortcut keys for assistants have become a small trend, and a splash of color makes this one hard to miss — a quick tap away from summoning the phone’s smarts.

Key specs at a glance:

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • Display: 6.78-inch flat, 1.5K resolution, 144Hz
  • Battery: 7,100mAh
  • Rear cameras: triple 50MP (main, wide, zoom)
  • AI: Doubao Mobile Assistant with a dedicated orange side button

What’s still missing is the part buyers care about most: price and availability. Nubia says it’s preparing for large-scale commercial availability, but hasn’t committed to an official launch date, and the phone isn’t on sale yet. For now, the NaviX Ultra reads as a confident, AI-forward flagship with the battery and screen to back up the ambition — we just need to see what it costs before passing final judgment.
