Nubia first showed the NaviX Ultra at WAIC 2026 in July, but it kept most of the details back. The full launch in China on September 16, 2026 filled in the gaps. It is a slim flagship with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 7,100mAh battery and a clear goal: to be less of a phone with a chatbot and more of an AI agent that also makes calls. ZTE’s nubia built the handset, and the Doubao Mobile Assistant from ByteDance runs the AI side. Nubia calls it the world’s first AI agent phone.
Doubao’s pitch rests on four abilities: deep reasoning, self-correction, extended-context adherence and generalization. In plain terms, deep reasoning breaks a complex job into smaller sub-tasks. Self-correction lets the assistant recover when a step fails. Extended-context adherence keeps a long task from drifting off course. The assistant takes text, images, audio and video as input, and it works with third-party apps and services such as Lark and CaoCao Mobility. A dedicated orange AI button on the side calls it up.
The hardware is just as serious. Here are the key specs:

Fitting a 7,100mAh cell into a 7.62mm body is the standout number here. Most phones this thin compromise on battery life, but the NaviX Ultra doesn’t. It also covers both charging methods, with 90W wired and 50W wireless. The screen is just as strong: 4,500 nits of peak brightness plus 2,160Hz PWM dimming, which is aimed at users whose eyes are sensitive to flicker.
Every model starts at 512GB of storage, and the range tops out at 16GB of RAM with 1TB. The phone comes in four colors: Dream, Blue, Black and White. It went on sale in China on September 16, 2026, the same day it launched. Nubia reported that first-sale revenue passed 100 million yuan in the first second. No international release has been confirmed.
The more interesting question is how well Doubao handles everyday work. Multi-step tasks that pass between apps and services are exactly where AI assistants have tended to break down. With the NaviX Ultra, nubia and ByteDance are betting that the agent, not the camera or the chipset, will make people buy the phone.
