Honor has already shown the world what the Magic9 looks like, but it kept the spec sheet to itself. A tipster on Weibo has now filled in the blanks, and the headline number is a battery. 11,000mAh, in a phone that reportedly carries a cooling fan.
The leak also reshapes the lineup. An earlier claim had the Magic9 family at two models. This one says there will be three: the base Magic9, the Magic9 Pro Max, and a Magic9 Super Edition. All three are said to share the same rear camera design that Honor showed in its official renders, which pushes the real differences inside the chassis.
Here is how the tipster splits the range:
- Magic9 Super Edition — 6.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate, 11,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a built-in cooling fan and a fiberglass body. Cameras are said to be a 200MP primary sensor alongside 12MP and 50MP units, with a single front-facing camera.
- Magic9 — 6.37-inch display, 8,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, two 200MP rear cameras co-developed with ARRI, and a 3D front-facing camera.
- Magic9 Pro Max — 6.8-inch display, 8,800mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme, a metal body and two 200MP rear cameras.
The Super Edition is the strange one, and deliberately so. It sits on the older Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 rather than the Gen 6 Extreme reserved for the Pro Max, and its camera array is claimed to skip the ARRI co-branding that Honor has been building its imaging story around. Fiberglass instead of metal is another tell. This does not look like the most expensive phone in the range. It looks like the one built around a single specification.
That specification is endurance. An 11,000mAh cell is roughly a quarter larger than the 8,800mAh pack credited to the Pro Max, and it is being paired with a 165Hz panel, the fastest refresh rate mentioned anywhere in the lineup. Fast screens drain batteries and generate heat, which is presumably why the fan is there. Active cooling in a phone is no longer a gaming-handset novelty, but it is still rare enough to signal intent.
The fiberglass body matters here too. A pack that size is heavy, and a metal frame would add more weight on top of it, so the cheaper-sounding material may be a weight decision rather than a cost one.
Treat all of it as unofficial. Honor has confirmed the design and nothing else, and a Weibo tipster is not a spec sheet. The series is expected to launch on September 28, 2026, with the phones already open for pre-order through Honor’s official online store in China. Anyone hoping to see an 11,000mAh flagship in Europe or the United States should note that nothing in the leak addresses markets outside China.
