Every photographer knows the frustration of needing light in a spot where a stand simply won’t reach. Godox’s answer isn’t another flash — it’s a gadget that grips. The ES01 Electric Suction Base is a motorized vacuum mount that lets you stick certain flashes and compact LEDs onto desks, walls, and glass, opening up angles that traditional supports make awkward or impossible.
The trick is automation. Press the button once and a built-in motor activates vacuum suction, holding itself in place without any manual pumping. When it’s time to move on, a single button press releases the seal. The unit runs on a small 3.8V, 200 mAh lithium battery that charges over USB-C in about an hour, and it looks after itself: a red warning light and an audible buzz kick in when the charge runs low.
Physically, the ES01 is about the size of a tennis ball. It weighs roughly 69 grams (2.4 oz) and measures 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.7 inches (68 x 68 x 42 millimeters). A single base holds up to 1.3 pounds (nearly 590 grams), with a recommended payload of 360 g (12.7 oz) for compatible lighting gear.
Godox has stocked its recent releases with compatibility in mind. The ES01 works with the following flashes:
- TT350, V350, iT32, iT30Pro, iT22, iT20
- iM22, iM20, iM30 Pro, and iM30
It also plays nicely with the compact LED6R and LED6Bi lights, plus any other hot shoe flash that stays below the weight limit. Interchangeable adapters handle the mounting.
For heavier gear, there’s the ES01 K3 kit, which bundles three suction cups with a bracket that arranges them in a triangle. Spreading the load across three bases pushes capacity up to 4.4 pounds (just under two kilograms) — enough to stick professional strobes on a wall or window.
The K3 supports Godox’s bigger hardware, including:
- AD100Pro, AD100Pro II, AD200Pro, AD200Pro II, AD300Pro, and AD300Pro II flashes
- P260C Pro, FH50Bi, FH50R, and LED308II LEDs
It’ll also carry any other light with baby pin or 1/4-20 compatibility under the 4.4-pound ceiling. As Godox frames it, from automotive shoots to indoor sets, the ES01 helps place light where stands struggle.
Both accessories are available to order now. The single ES01 costs $29, while the three-cup ES01 K3 kit for larger, heavier lights runs $79 — a modest outlay for the freedom to light from the ceiling, a car door, or a pane of glass.
